Sean Fader (b.1985) is the Professor of Practice in Photography at Tulane University. Fader holds an MA in digital arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Fader’s upcoming solo show with Denny Dimin Gallery opens in June 2000. Fader’s previous solo show for Spring/Break Arts Show with Denny Gallery, #365ProfilePics, was developed during residencies at Art Omi, Yaddo, Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, and the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. Fader received a faculty enrichment grant from FIT and a materials grant from Yaddo to support #365ProfilePics. Recent performances include #fernwings at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art and Socrates Sculpture Park, and Yaass Gaga at Satellite Art Show (Miami). Previous solo shows include #wishingpelt at Defibrillator Gallery (Chicago), Spring Break Art Show (NYC), and Pulse Art Fair (NYC), and Sup? at the University of Illinois in Springfield. Group shows include White Boys, curated by Hank Willis Thomas and Natasha L Logan (Haverford College); New Portraits, curated by Richard Prince (Gagosian, NYC); and Share This! Appropriation After Cynicism (Denny Gallery, NYC). Recent fellowships include New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and A Blade of Grass. Recent press includes MOMUS, Hyperallergic, Art F City, Vice, Art/Slant, Art News, Gothamist, NY1, the Huffington Post, and Slate. Fader is based in New Orleans and Brooklyn.
